Driller Assistant
The position as a Driller Assistant supports the drilling crew in the drilling operation.
The Driller Assistant will move, set up and operate drilling rigs and related equipment to drill holes.
Work is outdoors in all weather conditions.
The work is generally physically demanding.
This position requires knowledge of the Field Technician position and when qualified, works as driller.
This position requires travel and the ability to work with a small crew of three or four.
This position is the 2nd man on the crew.
Responsibilities:
The Driller Assistant must be able to do all the responsibilities and duties of the Field Technician.
o Ability to lift up to 40 pounds throughout the day o Mechanical ability to do minor repairs o Must be able to complete dailies, well and boring logs o Conduct pre-trip inspection o Set up control zone o Perform physical labor, shoveling, drilling debris, transport sand, cement and augers, using ergonomically correct lifting techniques o Operate high-pressure steam washer o Maintain equipment o Can communicate with clients and crew o Ability to fill in for driller when qualified o Knowledge of safety policies, study JSAs o Study for Drillers test o Obtain Class A CDL o Direct Field Technician employee(s) as needed o Maintain all certifications o High School Diploma or GED o Valid Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL o One year of steady work experience in construction or drilling o Complete Smith System Defensive Driving Instruction o 40 hour Hazwoper or 8 hour Refreshero Be dependable and trustworthy o Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather o Ability to work overtime and maintain a good attitudeo Must pass pre-employment drug screeningo Must pass criminal background check Trillium provides contract to hire, project staffing and direct placement to companies in the industrial cleaning and environmental industries.
